Meet Alexander Dimitrov, Senior ServiceNow ITOM Consultant at Do IT Wise. He believes everything happens for a reason, and he is in the right place being part of the company for over 5 years.
Besides his technical nature and the urge to solve problems, Sasho is also a very artistic person who can often be seen at exhibitions admiring contemporary art, reading manga, or playing the piano.
I am…
My name is Alexander Dimitrov, 27 years old, born and raised in Pleven. Although I spent many years in Sofia, in 2021 I decided to make a big change and move to Varna where I currently live.
My path in the IT world started with the example of my older sister who is also a software engineer. Following that route, I studied first in the Highschool of Mathematics in Pleven, and then I got my Bachelor’s degree in the Technical University in Sofia in Computer Science and Technology in the German language. I have some experience working as a system administrator, but I can say that my job here at Do IT Wise is my first real one. Here we are 5 years later, I am currently working for some of the leading companies in various industries, developing my professional skills further and growing as a person.
My role in Do IT Wise
That is one of the most difficult questions to explain. 🙂 I am an IT Consultant in the ITOM (IT Operations Management) Team. It may sound stiff but, my job is dynamic – half of the time I spend consulting our clients, and the other half is dedicated to technical work. It covers all the things I love – human communication, solving problems and finding the right solution, and technical implementation of that solution. So, if you see yourself loving the same things, consider consultancy as your career path.
Why Do IT Wise?
Everything happens for a reason. I joined the company by recommendation from a friend, but the funny part is that he explained a different scope of work for the position. When I went to the interview it turned out to be something else and even better. I was introduced to the ServiceNow platform and started as a Junior IT Consultant.
The thing that really made my mind back then and is still my main reason to love my job is the people in the company. For the 5 years I’ve been working here I met amazing guys I can call friends and I am glad most of them are still here and we are growing together.
My favorite project
My first client in the company is still my favorite. It is an automotive giant that I have worked with for 4 years. Since the beginning of our partnership, I have comprehended that the structure and processes are innately connected and vital for them, laying at the heart of their famous “Way of work”. Gaining a precise understanding of that concept from the source was a unique experience, and I try to implement those principles in my personal life as well. So, with ease, I can say that the trust we have built, and the success of our Digital Transformation journey together are my most outstanding achievements.
What I love about Do IT Wise?
We have had tremendous growth in the last 2 years, but the mindset of the company remained the same regarding the people and how they are treated. Open and honest communication, professional growth opportunities, support on any level – those are the basis of our internal culture. But the thing that really stands out for me is the level of understanding and support of each individual. For example, my decision to switch locations was totally backed by the team and the management. No questions asked. I am grateful to be able to work in such an environment.
My favorite moment in Do IT Wise
You have probably seen this before as an answer, but our team buildings are epic! I can highlight one of them when we went rafting. We were jumping from cliffs, and everybody told me not to worry because the water is deep… Well, I hit rock bottom that day. Literally. But our gatherings are always amazing because of the people. We had so many great experiences together, I cannot get them all together in one place.
One of my favorite stories started a couple of years ago during a work trip to Brussels with a bar, a glass of beer, and the last train. Long story short, I fell in love with a beer glass and after many days of complaining about it, on the next trip, our Project Manager got me the same one as a present.

Sharing is caring
I find inspiration in stoic practices that were practiced and documented by the Romans 2000 years ago. You can get some more information about it from one of my favorite websites – https://dailystoic.com/
A word from the Wise
The best advice I can give is – if you don’t like something in your life, change it. It doesn’t matter if it is in your personal life or related to work, we all have the power to transform our circumstances and be happy with what we do. I can gladly say I follow that principle and love where I stand in life right now.
My hobbies
Despite my technical nature, I consider myself an artistic person. Everybody who knows me can say I am a huge anime fan and I collect manga. And inspired by anime I started to play the piano which is my latest passion. I get in a meditative state while I do it and it is extremely relaxing. I also have a small collection of modern art pieces at home.
Another hobby of mine is watching and practicing sports such as swimming, fitness, and outdoor exercises. My plan for the next year is to practice more water sports like paddle boarding.

My favorite book or movie
I love fiction books and movies. One of my favorite book series is Dune, and now with the hype about the movie being released in 2021, more people will have the chance to experience the compelling story of the books. I also like to try other styles that are not so “typical” for men like the historical fiction novel “Memoirs of a Geisha”. Getting out of the ordinary widens your horizons. Sometimes you may not agree with things that are far away from your opinion but at least now you will know another point of view and have food for thought.
My favorite superhero
Captain America because he looks like an ordinary person but has huge inner strength and wisdom that makes him the great leader he is. And if I can have a superpower – probably teleportation.
When I was little, I wanted to become…
I wanted to be a scientist and make discoveries in math and physics. Then I realized that having the alphabet in math equations was too confusing, so I found my true calling in IT later in life.

My dream destination
I love to travel and explore new places. And from my previous answers, you can guess that my destination of choice is Japan and specifically Tokyo – the Neon City.
